How it works
The tool centres your image and crops it to the largest square that fits, then draws it
onto a <canvas> through a circular clipping path. Anything outside the
circle is left transparent, so the export is a clean round image rather than a circle on a
coloured box. If you enable a border, a stroked ring is painted just inside the edge in the
colour and thickness you choose. The preview is scaled to your screen, but the download is
rendered at the source resolution and saved as a PNG with full alpha. Everything happens in
your browser, so the photo is never uploaded.
How to crop a photo into a circle

- The image is centre-cropped to a square and masked to a circle automatically.

Why use a circle crop
Most social networks, chat apps and team tools show profile pictures inside a circle. If you upload a square photo they crop it for you, but you lose control over exactly what is kept and how a border looks. Exporting a true circular PNG yourself means the avatar drops in looking exactly as intended — corners gone, edges smooth — and the same file works on a light or dark page because the background is transparent rather than white.

Why PNG and not JPG for a circle crop?
JPG cannot store transparency, so a circular JPG would have visible square corners filled with a solid colour. PNG keeps the corners see-through, which is why the output is always a transparent PNG.
