How it works
Your image is drawn onto an HTML <canvas> that scales to fit your screen.
Each caption is a text layer rendered on top with its own font, fill colour, outline and
rotation; meme captions force uppercase and a thick stroke for the classic look. You can
drag any layer directly on the preview, and positions are stored as a fraction of the
image so they stay accurate at full resolution. When you click Export image,
every layer is repainted onto a fresh canvas at the original pixel size and saved as PNG or
JPG. The whole thing runs in JavaScript on your device — your photo and your words are
never uploaded.
How to add text to an image

Memes, captions and labels
The classic meme look is bold white Impact in uppercase with a heavy black outline so the words stay readable over any background — add one caption up top and one along the bottom and you have the familiar format in seconds. Free text mode drops the meme styling so you can add a tasteful caption, a quote, a watermark-style credit, an annotation arrow’s label, or a title card in any font, colour and angle you like.

How do I add text to an image?
Drop a photo, click Add text (or Add meme caption), then type into the text box. Drag the caption on the canvas to position it, and use the controls to change the font, size, colour, outline and rotation. Click Export when you are happy.
Does it make classic Impact-font memes?
Yes. The meme caption uses a bold Impact-style font in uppercase white with a thick black outline — the familiar top-text / bottom-text look. Add one caption for the top and another for the bottom, then drag each into place.
Can I add more than one block of text?
Yes. Each caption is its own layer. Add as many as you like, select any layer from the list to edit it, drag it on the canvas, or delete it. Every layer keeps its own font, colour, outline and rotation.
Can I drag the text exactly where I want it?
Yes. Click and drag any text directly on the image preview. Positions are stored relative to the image, so they stay correct when the canvas is scaled to fit your screen and when the full-resolution file is exported.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The photo is drawn onto a canvas in your browser and the text is rendered there too. Nothing is sent to a server, so private screenshots and personal photos stay on your device. Your caption is drawn onto the image, never stored.
